Who needs sleep?!

So, the biggest problem we are having right now is getting Mr. Wyatt to sleep through the night. He can, he has done it before but for the last 2-3 months - he has been waking up multiple times a night. One problem is that he has been sick on/off since Nov - multiple upper respiratory infections, an ear infection, etc... but now that he is feeling better...he just doesn't stay asleep. We've tired everything besides letting him scream his head off for an hour...not so sure I have the heart for that. Anyway, I went to Books a Million to see if there were any good books with suggestions for getting little munchkins to sleep though the night. We found the kid section where Wyatt could play while I skimmed through the books to see if there were any I wanted to buy. There was a train table which Wyatt loved and I took this video of him standing, holding onto the table and dancing! I just love it and thought I would share!

Happy 7 months Wyatt!

Wyatt - on Jan 2nd you were 7 months old! I can't believe how fast you are growing and how much you change every day! Your personality is really starting to show. You continue to be so much fun! You have taught me so much in these last 7 months - thank you! I truly am so lucky to have you as my baby boy!! Here is what you are up to:

-You weigh about 18 1/2 lbs, wear size 3 diapers and are in 9 month clothes!
-You still hate to nap - powernaps are your thing - 30 min in the morning and 30 min in the afternoon and you are good to go!
-You can roll over however would rather lay on your back and chew on your toes
-No teeth yet but they aren't far away - bibs are a must because you drool 24/7
-You fight sleep like no other
-Trying to give you medicine is like wrestling an alligator - you have even caught on to the mini bottle medicine dispenser
-You have started giving 'hugs' and I absolutely LOVE it
-You pretty much hate all veggies but would eat banana's every meal if you could
-You love bath time
-You love to stand and jump!
-Your new favorite thing to do is bang your toys against each other, on the floor, or on whatever makes noise!
-You love the remote and phones
-Your nosey :)
-Your smile melts my heart
-Your laugh is priceless
-Your soo much fun!!!

I LOVE YOU BUDDY!!

Over the last year...

2009 has been full of ups and downs for our family. We had some really great things happen and also suffered a few losses as well. Here is a recap of our 2009...

Jan - I started a new job as a Physical Therapist at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base
Feb - Darin's Pop passed away - we sure do miss him
April - my nephew Drew turned One!!!!
May - I finished my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree - finally!!!
June - our precious Wyatt was born!!!
June - my grandmother passed away after battling cancer - we miss her dearly
Sept - my maternity leave ended and I had to return to work :(
Oct - Wyatt's first Halloween! Also our good friend Scott returned safely from a deployment - Thank you Scott for fighting for our freedom - we love you!
Nov - Wyatt's first Thanksgiving!
Dec - Wyatt's first Christmas - including his first trip to the tree farm to get his Christmas tree!

3 of our very good friends also welcomed sweet babies in 2009 - Molly, Owen, and Raymond!!! And 2 more are pregnant with precious little ones due in 2010 - can't wait to meet Baby Irwin and Baby Parker!

Becoming a parent is truly a blessing and I just love Lil Wyatt more and more every day. I have learned a lot over the last year - about myself and about life in general. Life is precious, time really does fly by, patience is NECESSARY when you are a parent, the little things really do matter, and family is everything.

I have also learned that with out lists, I probably wouldn't make it! If I don't write it down, I'll forget it! Multi-tasking is a MUST, coffee is a lifesaver, and sleep isn't that important...just a few hours will do!

We truly are blessed in so many ways! We have such wonderful families and great friends! I look foward to all the things that 2010 has instore for our families and watching Wyatt grow and learn! Happy New Year!

Christmas 2009 - part 2!

As I mentioned below, over Chistmas we were able to visit with some of Darin's family that we don't get to see often. Darin's grandparents were in town and Wyatt was able to meet his great grandparents for the first time!! He was also able to meet some aunts, an uncle and cousins he'd never met before either. Everyone is so busy and we all live pretty far apart so getting together all at once is difficult but we were able to do it this Christmas. Below are some pictures that I didn't get to post earlier of the visit!!

Christmas 2009

Wow...the holidays went by so fast this year! Wyatt had a great first Christmas...minus one AWFUL ear infection complete with a ruptured ear drum...poor baby. On Christmas Eve we went to Church and then came back home to wrap some presents! My mom came up and spent the night with us. Christmas day, my family came over to exhange gifts and have a yummy dinner! It was so much fun watching Wyatt unwrap his presents. He started to get the hang of things but needed some help with the wrapping paper. He got TONS of toys and books! This was also the first year my nephew Drew, who is 20 months, could really get into Christmas! He had a blast opening all his presents and playing with all his new toys! I can't wait until next year when Wyatt can go crazy too!!

We then packed up and headed to Maryland to visit with Darin's family! We arrived early Saturday morning and opened presents with his Mom and Stepdad. Sunday we went to his Dad's house and Wyatt got to meet some of Darin's aunts, uncle, and his grandparents for the first time!! It was so nice to see everyone!

We are finally back home and trying to get back into our routine before heading back to work. All the decorations are town and toys are put away..for now!!
